My name is Dan Piñon (they/them) and I am a gender queer, mixed, latine (Mexican), neurodivergent therapist. I have had the honor of working with a wide variety of ages, background and needs. This includes specific communities such as queer/trans folks, neurodiverse humans, young/emerging adults, college students, BIPOC & multicultural identities, and trauma survivors. I serve adults, seniors, and youth over age 16, and also provide therapy for therapists. Specialty areas of mine include complex grief, neurodivergence, burnout, relational trauma, family wounds, somatic based practices, and identity exploration. I serve adults, seniors, and youth over age 16, and also provide therapy for therapists.

My therapy approach is integrative, trauma informed, queer affirming, sex-positive, and anti-oppressive. I am trained in Brainspotting and primarily utilize this neurophysiological approach in my therapeutic work. I also incorporate tenets of brain science, somatic experiencing, sensorimotor psychotherapy, internal family systems, polyvagal theory, systems theory, and mindfulness into my practice. I care deeply for community and have seen first hand the power of relationships on healing. This includes being mindful of how my own power and privilege enter the therapy space and the impact our interactions. I welcome direct discussion of systematic/institutional racism, systems of oppressions at large, long term impacts of identity discrimination, and intergenerational trauma.

Outside of individual therapy, I also enjoy facilitating (& co facilitating) groups, engaging in clinical consultation and providing workshops or presentations for community outreach. I have over six years of experience in higher education/academic settings and have various experiences with program development and management. You will notice I also offer letter writing, of various types, all in efforts to increase accessibility to the services you know you need. Some personal things about me: I am an artist, a collector of the most random trinkets, a partner, a sibling, animal lover, tattoo enthusiast, and forever cloud gazer.
