• Free Consultation

Finding a therapist that works for you can be a frustrating process. To ease some of this, I offer a free, 20 minute, consultation to see if I would be a good fit for your needs. This can be done via phone or video call. During this conversation, we explore your hopes for our work, the approaches that resonate with you, and any practical considerations such as session structure, accessibility needs, and payment options.

If we decide to move forward after this consultation, you will be sent registration paperwork that needs to be completed before our first session.

  • Intake Session

This appointment will involve a comprehensive review of your history, a deeper discussion of what is bringing you in for services, and overall goals for our work.

If you choose to use insurance to cover services, the intake session will include a clinical assessment that results in a diagnosis, as required by insurance companies for reimbursement. Visit my rates and insurance page for more considerations on this.

  • Ongoing Therapy

During these appointments, we will use the therapy goals made in collaboration to guide our work, while continuing to build our therapeutic relationship and trust. Sessions are offered in person or via telehealth

You can expect 50 minute sessions, unless your insurance dictates otherwise. Together, we can determine what frequency of meetings feels best for you.

Have weekly, 50 minute appointments not been enough for you in the past? I encourage you to read about Intensive Sessions below!

  • Therapy Intensives

Have you had trouble getting your needs met through the standard, weekly therapy schedule? Is it not realistic for your lifestyle to attend weekly therapy sessions? Consider booking a therapy intensive, which offers concentrated and extended time for us to go deeper on a schedule that works for you.

Therapy intensives are meant to be an adjunct to your ongoing therapy. If you already have a therapist and want to schedule an adjunct intensive, I may be able to fit you in even if my practice is full so be sure to reach out.

  • Workshops, Outreach and Consultation

Community care and connection are integral pillars of my personal values. Outreach work allows me to meld together these values and my love of psycho-education. Some prior outreach work has involved leading workshops, presenting on a specialty topic, guest lecturer for class, group facilitation for an organization, DEI consultant and staff wellness mediator.

Rates dependent on circumstances of the request. Head on over to the contact page and send me an email.

  • Letter Writing

Our systems of oppression are designed to create barriers that make securing life-saving accommodations nearly impossible on your own. I aim to not further gatekeep this process by requiring you to attend weeks or months of therapy. I typically provide letters in 1-2 sessions. Cost is discussed during our initial consultation, with reduced fee options available.

Some of the previous letters I have done include support of gender affirming care, medical cannabis eligibility, emotional support animals and workplace/academic accommodations.

 Therapy Intensives

Traditional therapy is often considered weekly, or bi weekly, 50 minute sessions, which became the standard because of policies of insurance companies. Of those 50 minutes, there is usually 10-15 minutes of greeting/catching therapist up on your week, 20-30 minutes of getting to the “bulk” of your concern/focus area followed by 10-15 minutes of closing, scheduling the next appointment and signing off. While this standard approach to therapy can benefit many, it is also very restrictive for others. This could be for a number of reasons including…

  • Your brain requires more transition and processing time, making the 50 minute model not as effective for you

  • It isn’t possible for you to carve out space in your schedule for weekly or bi weekly appointments

  • You are desiring a more focused and deeper dive into your therapy goals

  • A therapy intensive, compared to the traditional psychotherapy (45-60 minute) sessions, can offer a concentrated and immersive therapeutic experience that can lead to trauma healing, rapid progress, profound insights and transformative change for both individuals and couples seeking drastic change and an intense intervention.

Intensives can last multiple hours, sometimes across days, depending on the package you select. During this time, you and I are diggingdeep into a particular issue, without getting off course by COWS (Crisis of the Week). This approach to therapy does not require the typical catch up between client and therapist between sessions. This type of laser focused treatment can lead to getting months’ worth of work done in extended periods of time.

During an intensive, we can use a variety of techniques in one session, whether it’s movement-based skills, breathwork, IFS, brainspotting, or a combination of many of these.

  • The short answer is yes! The longer answer is it depends on what your definition of “effective” or “successful” is.

Therapy intensives expedite meeting your mental, emotional and relationship goals by accelerating your focus. Through intensives, you have the potential to get in months worth of therapy work into a shorter time frame. However, is it is not about bulldozing through therapy or trying to "get to the end".  This does not mean your healing is over once your therapy intensive is over. We are all forever evolving, which also means, we are all forever healing.

While you may have accelerated progress compared to week-to-week therapy, depending on the nature of your trauma history you may still have work to do to continue to heal after the intensive week. We'll work on a detailed post-intensive plan so you have clear direction on how to keep your healing going.

  • Ultimately, anyone can benefit from a therapy intensive! Individuals or couples may consider intensives if experiencing the following circumstances…

    • Attending weekly therapy sessions have not been providing the desired results for you

    • You have significant trauma you would like to address through this supportive and focused model

    • You are or will be experiencing a life event that you would like support with whether that is a divorce, move, or other significant change.

    • You are needing focused and immersive space to make a big life decision

  • For sure! Some clients prefer the intensive model, so instead of having weekly therapy, they’ll do a therapy intensive once per month, or even per quarter. Others do their first therapy intensive to address a specific issue, and once that’s resolved, they find they want to address a different issue or upcoming life event

  • Costs for intensives will differ depending on what you are hoping to get done and within what time frame. You can visit my rates page to see the current intensive options I offer. Keep in mind if you do not see a perfect fit for you and your goals, we may be able to build a schedule specifically for you.

  • Therapy Intensives are typically considered a private pay service, meaning you would pay the full rate shown here.

Although it may not be covered, I can provide you a superbill for potential reimbursement. Check out some helpful tips on this here! If you are going to submit the superbill for reimbursement, please note insurance companies will require me to provide a formal diagnosis in order to qualify for treatment/reimbursement.

  • Consider started with a 90 minute extended therapy session!

How Does it Work?

The process will begins with a 1:1 consultation to determine whether a Therapy Intensive is an appropriate fit, and whether this model can adequately address your concerns. You can schedule that by completing the interest form linked below. After the consultation, we will develop a personalized plan, including the recommended treatment option (e.g., 3hrs, 2 days, etc.).

I will meet with you in blocks and anything over 2 hours will include a lunch/meal and breaks as needed. After the intensive, I will work with you on a detailed plan on what is next so you have clear direction on how to keep your healing going, whether that is scheduling another intensive or connecting with another provider.

What is Brainspotting?

Brain spotting is a brain-body based therapeutic approach that helps process trauma and other negative past experiences, that are held onto in the deepest parts of our brains. This therapy, developed by David Grand, operates on the principle that where you look affects how you feel. This refers to the eye positions- or “brainspots”-that correlate with unconscious, emotional experiences. As the brainspot is sustained with focused mindful attention, the survival energy trapped in the traumatic memory capsule can be released and the body/ mind can move towards the equilibrium it is constantly searching for.

Somatic based therapies, such as this one, allow us to bypass the “thinking” part of your brain and directly access the subcortical, midbrain, through our optic nerve. This deeper, subcortical space of our brain houses the parts of your brain involved in emotion regulation. Your brain is truly incredible and knows how to heal itself when we allow it the opportunity!
